Introducing Snuffaloughagous or Snuffy! He is a Haflinger cross John mule! Snuffy is a wonderfully made, stout-featured mule that can really blaze the trails. He has been ridden by ages 6 to 76! He is a no-nonsense kind of mule who is good with his ears and feet and easy to catch. He trailers nicely, bathes, and clips. When it comes to riding, Snuffy is top-notch as well. He is happy to stroll along at a walk or will gladly go through his gaits when asked. However, he is MORE WHOA THAN GO! There’s nothing he won’t attempt for his rider. He is comfortable down the city streets, in a herd of cattle, or the middle of the national forest. He has been used as a kid’s mule, an inexperienced wife’s mount, and for any other rider who needed a steady eddy to trail ride. Snuffy is a rock-solid mount that always aims to please. Snuffy is 100 percent sound, blemish, and vice-free.

About Charleston, IL

Native Americans lived in the Charleston area for thousands of years before the first European settlers arrived. With the great tallgrass prairie to the west, beech-maple forests to the east, and the Embarras River and Wabash Rivers between, the Charleston area provided semi-nomadic Indians access to a variety of resources. Indians may have deliberately set the " wildfires" which maintained the local mosaic of prairie and oak–hickory forest. Streams with names like 'Indian Creek' and 'Kickapoo Creek' mark the sites of former Indian settlements. One village is said to have been located south of Fox Ridge State Park near a deposit of flint.
